The Schlundt lab could succesfully secure funding totaling 600.000 Euros to study the versatile Cellular Nucleic Acid Binding Protein, CNBP, and its remodeling of DNA and RNA structure in host and virus genomes. The 3-year project is financed through one of the Rise up! fellowships provided by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation (https://www.boehringer-ingelheim-stiftung.de/was-wir-foerdern/foerderprogramme/rise-up.html). It will start in 2026 and involves collaborations withing the institute, the C-FunGene and groups outside of Greifswald. It will combine structural biochemistry and a multi-Omics approach.
