Yesterday, Michael Lalk and myself entertained the students in a fully-seated lecture hall with our traditional "Xmas experimental lecture" at the Institute of Biochemistry Beside classical experiments with pH-indicators, colorful flames, an ether ramp, a fluorescent Xmas “Chemistree”, burning Mg in dry ice, and some hydrogen explosions, we were happy to see that also the more serious experiment with the “dancing gummy bear” and especially the “barking dog” (for the experts: CS2 & N2O, https://lnkd.in/eEmuKRRq) worked out nicely with an astonishing blue flame and incredible noise😎.
